The Department of Public Works continues to provide essential infrastructure services on behalf of client Departments such as Education and Health & Social Development.
The Department has a tariff policy in line with the Provincial Treasury policy and the Executive Council’s resolution on market-related rentals. Rental tariffs are set at the market rate less 25%, as approved by the Executive Council. They were increased by 5% following Provincial Treasury approval.
A tariff register is maintained and reviewed annually in consultation with the Treasury.
The Department undertakes project management and procurement services for client Departments based on their business plans. Personnel-related costs are covered by Public Works, meaning client departments receive these administrative and project management services at no direct cost.
